We would like to inform you that The Public Prosecution (niaba) is the authority that investigates crimes before sending the case file to the competent court. It can receive the complaint directly from the complainant or through the competent police station. Regarding to drug cases, the Public Prosecution considers the complaint file and conducts the investigation and then sends the file to the competent court to punish the person according to the provisions stipulated in the Anti-Narcotics Act. The Public Prosecution plays an important role in the field of drug cases in terms of ordering arrests and confiscation of narcotic substances and ordering medical examinations.

 As for the punishment for drugs, it is two years imprisonment if the crime was drug consumption, based on the text of Article 39 of the Federal Drug Law
