Causes and treatment of painful groin swelling?

Usually there are mutable causes for this complaint, and this actually should be evaluated by your doctor. Sometimes this may indicate an inflamed lymph node, which is treated with oral antibiotics and if persistent it should be evaluated more by imaging and biopsies. It also may be due to incarcerated hernia, either femoral or inguinal and it should be treaded surgically. Other causes maybe due to inflamed sebaceous cyst or hair follicle and it also require surgical removal plus oral antibiotics such as Augmentin

Diagnosis

It's usually evaluated by physical exam, sometimes tests are required, such as CBC for any inflammations and imaging such as ultrasound, in addition biopsy may be done for histological evaluation>

Signs and symptoms:

• Pain
• Redness
• Tenderness
• Swelling
• Discharges
• Others

Advice:

To be examined physically with necessary tests.
