Hello my company has canceled my labour card but...

We would like to inform you that it is known that the sponsor or any one representing him can cancel the residence visa, but the sponsored person can’t do so without a permit from the sponsor, and the residence cancellation occurred after the work contract cancellation.

Documents required

The following documents are required for cancelling a residence visa through GDRFA:

·         cancellation form signed by the sponsor

·         if the sponsor is a company or a firm, the cancellation form must be signed and sealed by the company stamp and a clearance certificate from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation must be attached

·         the original passport of the sponsored

·         original identity card of the sponsored

·         If the sponsored ones are out of the UAE, the sponsor may present the original passport or a computerized extract of their residence visas. (Kindly contact the Naturalisation and Residency Dept to get a computerized extract of the residence visa.)

We would like to inform you that If you can't cancel your visa, there is called automatic cancellation of stay. Staying for more than six months outside the UAE automatically cancels your residence visa. You must deliver your UAE ID to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners' Affairs. And Foreigners Affairs to hand over UAE ID cards returned to the Emirates Identity Authority that issued the card
