We would like to inform you that you shall refer to the terms of the employment contract to find out whether the housing allowance is among the elements of the leave salary or not, since according to the provisions of the law, the housing allowance is not considered among the elements of the worker’s comprehensive salary. This is according to the Labor law:
Article 1:
In applying the provisions of this law the following words and phrases shall have the meaning assigned to each of them unless the context requires otherwise.
...
12- Basic salary: The payment agreed upon between the employee and the employer in cash as stated in the work contract in addition to periodical allowances.
13-Gross salary: The basic salary in addition to all other allowances payable to the employee in return for his work.
