Treatment of kidney stones :

The treatment is being decided according to the size of the stone .
In case of kidney stone size range from 0.5 cm to 2 cm, the treatment is by ESWL .
In case of kidney stone size more than 2 cm, the treatment is surgical either open surgery or by laser

Diagnosis of kidney stones :

The diagnosis is made by taking full history and clinical examination of the patient and doing investigations including blood investigations like CBC, inflammatory and infection marks ESR and CRP, renal functions, urine analysis, urine culture, and doing pelvic and abdominal ultrasound and x-ray .

Symptoms of kidney stones :

- Pain in urination

- urgency 

- burning during micturation 

- frequent micturation 

- abdominal and loin pain

- feeling of inability to complete urination

- dark urine

- bad odor of urination
- vomiting 
- nausea
- fever
