The end-of-service gratuity is calculated on the basis of the last basic wage received by the worker before the end of his service. The worker is entitled to half of the basic wage for each year of the first three years he worked for the employer, and he is also entitled to the basic wage for a full month for each year starting from the fourth year of service. Continuing with the employer, and the fractions of the year are calculated in proportion to the period spent in the service. Example: A worker works in a construction profession at a specific facility and receives a basic wage of 80 Omani Riyals.
***In addition to bonuses of 60 Omani riyals per month, the worker continued to work for the facility for a period of 4 years and three months, and the amount of his basic wage increased until it reached 120 Omani riyals in the last wage he received from the facility at the end of his service, so the calculation of the end-of-service gratuity is as follows:
For the first three years of service, the worker is entitled to half the basic wage for each year, i.e. 60 Omani riyals, which is a total amount of 180 Omani riyals for three years, calculated on the basis of the last basic wage received by the worker.
