We would like to inform you that foreign workers can request to transfer to another employer without having to cancel their work permits and without having to travel outside Bahrain.

The transfer may take place with or without the consent of the current employer.

The transfer is permitted only if the foreign worker's work permit is still valid, at least for 3 months.

If the transfer request is requested without the consent of the current/old employer, the foreign worker must have completed 12 months of service with the same employer before the new employer begins to apply for a transfer.

Foreign workers with expired work permits have to apply for a new work permit (not a transfer).
