We would like to inform you that the child shall be registered within 30 days of birth. In the case of a different nationality of the parents, the child is born with the nationality of his father. Individuals may apply for a birth certificate issuance from the hospital where they were born, or through the concerned health authority in the emirate.
Requirements of birth certificate:
· A live birth notification, stamped from the hospital
· Exit card from the hospital
· ID and passport of both parents, copy the original
· marriage contract in Arabic duly certified or translated into Arabic and duly certified. copy the original
All residents must certify birth certificates from the Ministry of Health and Community Protection and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The stamped birth certificates from the DHA or the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi equal the seal of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection.
The resident is granted 120 days from the date of birth of the child to prepare the official documents including the birth certificate, passport, identity card and residence visa. A fee of AED 100 applies for each additional day if the visa is not completed within the specified time, and the child will not be allowed to leave the country.
