We would like to inform you that if you filed a complaint against the employer for obtaining your passport illegally, in this case, the passport belongs to the country that issued it, and the employer may not keep the worker’s passport, and therefore, your complaint is correct by law and the employer will be punished. This is according to the passport texts mentioned in the law as follows:
Article (8)
The holder of the passport or travel document may not send it abroad, and if it is lost, damaged or stolen, he shall inform the competent authority or the nearest Omani embassy or consulate or other authorities that look after Omani interests if he is abroad, on the dates and procedures set forth in Regulation.
