We would like to inform that You can apply for a divorce in accordance with the UAE Personal Status Law. If both parties wish to apply the divorce law in force in their countries, they must apply before the court and the divorce proceedings will take several months if there is a dispute between the parties according to the facts. If the parties agree on divorce, the wife shall file a proof of divorce and the husband shall be brought before the court to acknowledge the effect of the divorce between them to issue a judgment from the court confirming this divorce officially and the financial cost in this case is about 50 dirhams.
As for custody, according to UAE law, the custody of women ends when the male reaches eleven years old and the female thirteen years old, unless the court decides to extend this age in the interest of the child under the child, until the male reaches the age or the female gets married. 2 - Custody of women continues if the child under custody is demented or sick and crippled, unless the child’s interest requires otherwise.
