The UAE ID card is mandatory for all UAE residents, including UAE nationals, GCC nationals and expatriates residing in the UAE. Any person included in one of these categories is required to apply for an ID card from the Federal Authority for Identity and Nationality and renew it upon expiry. The following documents must be submitted to obtain the identity card:
• Original passport valid.
• Residence or visa
• Pay the fees: AED 100 per year in the residence, in addition to the amount of 70 AED in the case of the application through the printing offices, or AED 40 in the case of submission through the electronic form on the website of the Federal Identity and Criminal Authority
