We would like to inform you that according to the UAE Rent Law, if the contract wasn't registered in the Municipality by RERA, then it will not be used legally and the agent will not use it against you in the municipality court. In such case, you can go to the municipality court where you reside, and file a case for not registering the contract legally. Or you can wait till the agent takes any procedure against you such as filing a case, then you can appeal against that and defend yourself that he didn't register the contract in RERA.
For cheques, you can go to the court and claim to stop these cheques as they don't have balance then file a criminal complaint in the prosecution that the agent took the cheques without legal reason.
So you will have decision to stop these cheques by the court till the lawsuit is issued to stop the cheques till the rent dispute is solved.
