We would like to inform you that the UAE Labor Relations Act authorizes the employer to terminate the unlimited employment contract provided that he informs the worker 30 days before the date of termination. This does not affect the rights of the worker so that he is entitled to all his wages and is also entitled to end of service benefits. The worker may file a complaint against him at the Labor Office or file a lawsuit before the competent court, noting that the fees for litigation in respect of labor claims are free of charge.
Article (5):
shall be exempt from the fees of the jurisdiction proceedings and the claims filed by the workers based on the provisions of this law. In the event of a judgment of inadmissibility or refusal, the Court may adjudicate all or some of its expenses to its addressee.
Article (117):
1. Either the employer or the worker may terminate an indefinite term contract for a valid reason at any time following its conclusion, by giving the other party a notice in writing at least 30 days prior to termination.
2. For the daily-paid workers, the notice period shall be as follows:
• One week: if the worker has been employed for more than six months but less than one year.
• Two weeks: if the worker has been employed for not less than one year.
One month: if the worker has been employed for not less than five years.
