We would like to inform you that if you have a bounced cheque fine, you may either pay the fine at the court that issued the judgment or submit a request to reduce the fine with the Public Prosecution. The request will be considered and decided upon and we advise you to submit the request through a lawyer who is familiar with the procedures to be taken in this regard. And according to the legal system and Law No. 1 of 2017, which came into force in December 2017, people who have bounced cheques and whose amount is less than 200 thousand dirhams can be penalized through the prosecution without referring the case to the judges and paying a maximum fine of 10,000 AED.
