You have to operate the vehicle and obtain an operating permit for it to register the vehicle with the Traffic Department and to register it you have to follow the following general procedures:
1. Examination of the car at one of the approved inspection centers (except for vehicles that have not passed 3 years from the date of manufacture), and the result of the examination must prove the validity of the car for registration.
2. Car insurance from one of the approved insurance companies
3. Settlement of all violations and fines (can be paid with service fees)
4. Request to register the car through the approved registration channels
5. Pay the registration fee
6. Receive the vehicle registration card (ownership) in addition to a sticker showing the month and year in which the vehicle registration date ends
Required Documents
The documents required to register a vehicle include the following:
1. One of the following documents for the vehicle: a customs certificate, a certificate of transfer, export, possession, transfer of possession, or a replacement for a lost export certificate (To Whom It May Concern Certificate)
2. The original Emirates ID + a copy of the passport + a copy of the residence permit (for residents)
3. Electronic insurance of the vehicle
4. An official letter approved by the company in Arabic + a copy of the trade license + a letter of approval, signature and authorization (for companies)
