treatment :
- Gonorrhea infection is a bacterial infection that is transmitted mainly through sexual contact and can infect both males and females, appears in the form of symptoms that affect the reproductive system, throat, and may spread in the body if left untreated to affect the heart and its valves, and therefore it must be treated properly. for its treatment antibiotics such as Ceftriaxone 500mg are used as a single intramuscular injection, which is the first option, if there's an allergy to it or not available, Gentamicin 240mg can be used as a single intramuscular injection with 2 grams of Azithromycin orally, and the third option, which is the least preferred option, is A single dose of Cefixime 800mg orally, and it is worth treating the sexual partner with the same treatment even if he/she does not show symptoms.
How is the diagnosis made:
- The diagnosis is made by taking the medical history, studying the symptoms that the patient complains of and making a clinical examination for him/her, and then running some tests such as urine analysis to detect the presence of bacteria, or taking a swab from the affected area and analyze it in the laboratory
