I'm expat, and my husband is Bahraini. We engaged 2 years back and planned to have official marriage in March 2020. Because of covid lockdow it happened delays with marriage. Finally in May we arranged all needful documents for nikhah, but got our marriage certificate only in October 2020. Now I'm on the 8th months of pregnancy (January 2021) in my file doctor wrote that its ILLEGAL PREGNANCY. Had she rights to do it? Shall my husband prove paternity in such case? Will it be any problem with registration of the baby?Regards, Ann.

If your inquiry is related to an illegal pregnancy, here is the following information:
If the pregnancy occurred before the time of marriage, then this pregnancy is considered illegal, as well as if the man and woman are transferred to the court in that case, the marriage contract must be submitted in order to obtain a simple judgment or obtain a judgment of acquittal.
Also, the father can register the child, and if the father encounters any difficulties in registering the child in that case, the mother can file a lawsuit for proof of lineage, and in the session set for examining the case, the father will attend and acknowledge the child's paternity.
