Good morning, i am suffering for my vaginal itchy...

Management of vaginal itching :

To treat the problem we need to figure out the underlying cause , by history and clinical examination . Vaginal itching can be a symptom of many different conditions . First you need to keep the area clean and dry as possible as humidity can be suitable media for infection , we also recommend avoiding overuse of female hygiene and skincare products over this area , and since the most common cause for vaginal itching is fungal infection , we recommend applying Miconazole cream twice daily for 4 weeks and taking Flucconazole 150 mg as single dose . if the patient is postmenopausal and there is history of buning urination and pain during intercourse , this may point to vaginal atrophy and dryness which is best treated by estrogen creams .

Diagnosis :

this requires history and clinical examination , including speculum examination of the vagina to look foe suggestive signs of infection , tumors ,etc. we may also need to do  a biopsy if no response seen

Possible causes :

• vaginal candidiasis
• atrophic vaginitis
• lichen sclerosus
• sexually transmitted infections
• vulvar cancer

Recommendations :

To follow instructions above and see a gynecologist if no improvement seen
