Zoon’s balanitis

Zoon’s balanitis describes inflammation of the head of the penis (glans penis) and foreskin , It may last for several years, and can flare intermittently. Sometimes it can be improved with altered washing habits and the use of cortsione cream like Betamethosone cream twice daily , and the Anti-Bacterial agent like Fucidic acid cream twice daily . and it also may be cured by circumcision or carbon dioxide lasers which is done by specialist .

Diagnosis : 

By history and physical examination , and we can do CBC to roll out infection , it can be diagnosed by shape of lesion and the associated symptoms ,and  Sometimes a small skin sample may be taken from the skin of the penis and checked under the microscope to confirm the diagnosis and check for possible underlying conditions . 

Causes : 

• lichen planus
• Dead skin cells, droplets of urine, soap particles and skin flora
