When we taik about your wife symptoms we think about gastritis which is treat by omprazole 20mg twice daily , and we think gastric ulcer which has symptoms as stomach pain , anorexia , weight loss , which we need to diagnose it blood or stool sample to detect H.pylori infection , which treated by triple therapy ( clarithromycin + omprazole + amoxcillin or metronidazole ) for 3 weeks then complete omprazole for 2 weeks then repeat stool test to confirm healing , and in both above cases need to avoid eating spicy food , avoid drink caffeine , coca cola , and avoid smoking which assist in rapid improvment of this cases 
: Diagnosis 
Advise yo to follow above instructions , if your case does not improve I advise you to go to internal medicine doctor to take detailed history , do full examination and some investigations as Ultrasound or endoscope and can do blood or stool sample test for H.pylori and follow your case
