I boiled ginger in water and added a quarter of a teaspoon of Vick vaporub to it and poured glasses for myself wife and 9 year old son I assumed this would help with sore throat after consuming I realised that the box advised not to consume orally after some research on Google I found out camphor is toxic and vicks contains 5.5% camphor please advise are we at any risk should I monitor anything and is there something I can take at home right now to neutralize it

regarding your case :
its right , Vick vaporub isnt supposed to be taking orally , its useless , and may be harmful if taking orally in high amount , but regarding your current described condition , the amount of the product is quite little to cause major harm as the ingredients camphor is relativlty little as well
what to do to monitor you and your family condition :
a 24 hour monitoring is enough in this case , you would be looking if any symptoms appeared , such as : dizziness , loss of conciousness , hallucinating , and changes in body outputs such as urine or stool . if any happen , ER is the right place to diagnose the case and monitor it
- dont use vaporub orally again
in case of any of the mentioned symptoms appeared , what would happen in the ER :
- first , doctor will ask questions regarding the amount of the medication and previous history of the patient if he/she have any other serious illness , then doctor will perform basic tests such as : vitals ( blood sugar / blood pressure / O2 levels ) , as well as labratory tests such as : blood test CBC / kidney function test / liver function test
- if any abnormalties appears , doctor may give medications to reduce absorption such as : medical charcoal
- monitoring will last at least 12 hours with repeating tests
