Do I have to pay overstay fines even when my sponsor confiscated my passport where by there's no way for me to work or get my sel a visa since I have no passport with me?

We would like to inform you that according to the Residence Law, in the event that there are fines for residency due to the violation, it cannot be exempted from it or even paid in installments, but as an attempt from you, you can go to immigration and residency, and submit a grievance and redress letter, and the approval decision remains for this party alone, and it is the one that has the possibility to reduce or even installment
For the purposes of clarification and referring to the executive regulations related to the residence of expatriates in the UAE, and to the decision to amend Article (77) of the executive regulations of Federal Law No. 6 of 1973 stipulate that:
The Executive Regulation of Federal Law, stipulating that the competent Naturalization and Residency Department shall collect a fine of 100 AED for each day in which the alien resides illegally. As the penalty shall be calculated from the day following the expiration of the non-renewable visa and the expiration of 10 days for the renewable visas and seven days from the date of issuance of the exit permit for violators of the Aliens Entry and Residence Law.
Note that, the Nationality and Residency consider the 100 AED fine from the first day of expiration of all visa types even visit, transit, entry, tourist and entry permit to visit residents in the GCC.
Article 78
Of the same law stipulates that, except in the cases mentioned in the preceding article, the financial fine obtained by an alien for his illegal residence in the country after the expiration of his/her visa/residence permit, as it shall be calculated as the following:
• (25 AED) on every day of the first six months,
• (50 AED) for each of the next six months.
• (100 AED) for each day next to the year
According to the UAE law, and if you are a resident and an expatriate in the UAE and with regard to reserving the passport first, it is not permissible for the employer to reserve a passport with this original, but in the event that the passport is seized with the employer, the sponsor can claim it, and if the rejection is made, then the complaint can be directed to the nearest center Police and you can submit a copy of the complaint to the Labor Office to clarify the matter and the violation, but the law permits that the passport be seized at any government department affiliated with the Ministry of Interior with the presence of the legal justification for the reservation, otherwise it is considered a legal violation, and this is unlike the private sector employers who are forbidden to seize passports The workers have this on the one hand
