We would like to inform you that if the disobedience of children to their parents constitutes domestic violence, then this matter is subject to the Law on Protection from Domestic Violence, whereby the law defines in Article 1 of it family violence as every act, stipulating, abuse, harm or threat, committed by one of the family members against another member of it transgressing what he has from a mandate, guardianship, maintenance, authority, or liability, and that results in physical, psychological, sexual, or economic harm.
A complaint may be filed at the Public Prosecution, which will take all means to protect the parents through:
*Not to be attacked.
*Not approaching the places designated for protecting the victim, or any other place mentioned in the protection order.
*Not to damage the personal property of the victim or any of his family members.
*Enabling the aggressed person or whomever he delegates to receive necessary personal belongings.
*Any other procedures that the Public Prosecution deems to be included in the protection order would be able to provide effective protection for the offender or any of the persons likely to be harmed because of their relationship with him.
Whoever commits any act of domestic violence on the parents is punished with imprisonment for a period not exceeding three months and a fine of not less than one thousand dirhams and not exceeding ten thousand dirhams, or one of these two penalties.
