Good evening. I just wanted to ask about my contract. I started in the present company last Dec. 18, 2016, but they process my renewal contract last January 2018, i found a job in other company. My question is, when should be my last day of duty, is it on the same date i join the company? Or it will be depends on the date when my contract was renewed?

If your inquiry concerns the unlawful termination of a limited-term contract, you have the following information is provided:
If the worker on a limited-term contract terminates the work contract illegally, then he must pay the following amounts to the employer:
- A maximum of one and a half months' salary as compensation for the illegal termination of the working contract.
In addition, the employee does not receive the end-of-service allowance.
The employer may request a ban on you and prevent you from working for a period of one year, in addition to the cancellation of your visa and a ban on you and prevent you from entering the UAE to work for a period of one year.

Here is the legal text of the UAE labor law relevant to your inquiry:
Article 116:
Should the contract be rescinded by the worker for causes not set forth in Article 121, the worker shall be bound to compensate the employer for the loss incurred thereto by reason of the rescission of the contract, provided that the amount of compensation does not exceed the wage of half a month for the period of three months, or for the remaining period of the contract, whichever is shorter, unless otherwise stipulated in the contract.
Article 138:
Should the worker bound by an employment contract with determined term leave his work by his own choice prior to the expiry of the contract, he shall not be entitled to an end of service gratuity unless the duration of the service period exceeds five years.
