In order to be able to visit an inmate in a prison in the UAE, a visit permit must be obtained by submitting an application to the Public Prosecution whose jurisdiction is the prison subject of the matter.

Submitting an application for a prisoner visit permit to visit an inmate in correctional and penal institutions pending a criminal case shall be by submitting the application and the required documents through the available channels in the following manner:

Pay the prescribed fees

Present the request to the competent Public Prosecution member

Obtaining a permit to visit a prisoner, if approved

•  Regarding the required documents:
• Emirates ID card (original for viewing and a copy for safekeeping)
•  The fee is 20 dirhams
•  In the event that the detainee is detained in pretrial detention or treatment clinics, the application shall be submitted to the Public Prosecution office concerned with the geographical location.
• The kinship of the applicant for a visit must be of the first degree, except for those who are exempted from this, according to what the specialists consider
