Hello. I am an expat living in Dubai in a property owned by a local and I have a 5 year Ejari with rent paid upfront until 2023. I received a notification in Arabic at my villa door today from Dubai courts saying the property is being auctioned as the local owner has a financial case. Where do I stand? Can I be evicted from my home during this time of COVID?

Please be kindly informed that according to the data provided to us in your inquiry and with reference to the rents restriction law in the Emirate of Dubai first and with its validity and extension of the lease contract and the sale took place or there is an announcement to sell the property by auction by a judicial order and through the court, this does not mean the end of the lease contract and therefore it is possible to stay in the property until the end The lease contract, given that this is legally guaranteed to the tenant, and no one can take it out from it except after the end of the lease agreement unless the new owner and the tenant want to renew the lease contract. Thank you.
