This is according to the provisions of the UAE Immigration and Residence Law,
Article 21
Every foreigner whose entry visa or residence permit has been canceled or his residency has expired with the expiry of the permit, entry visa, or residence permit, and has not initiated the renewal - in the cases in which it is permissible - within a period not exceeding thirty days from the expiry date, or he has not left the country within this period A fine not exceeding (100) one hundred dirhams shall be imposed on him for every day on which he resides an illegal stay in the country, starting from the date of the expiration of the grace period.
With regard to a foreign child, the period stipulated in this article is four months from the date of birth, and with its expiration without confirming his residency, his guardian or guardian is obligated to pay the prescribed fine, and the minister or whoever delegates him may decide to exempt from all or some of the fine prescribed in this article.
