We would like to inform you that in regard to overfishing in the UAE, then the Law for the Protection and Development of Water Resources stipulates imprisonment and a fine or either of the two penalties.
In addition, some administrative penalties may be applied, such as canceling the fisherman's license and reserving the boat for a specified period.
According to the law states the below articles:
Article 22

A fishing boat may not be anchored or anchored in areas where fishing is prohibited, except in emergency situations caused by weather conditions or a defect in it, or for life or property saving operation.

Article 23
It is not permissible to fish with tools or fishing equipment that is strictly prohibited, or with fishing tools or equipment that is prohibited to be used in certain times or areas or according to certain specifications or for certain types of living aquatic wealth.
The executive regulations shall specify the tools and equipment that are used in fishing and the tools and equipment whose use is restricted or prohibited.
Article 24
It is not permissible to hunt during fertilization and breeding seasons and in areas where fishing is prohibited permanently or temporarily, and it is not permissible to catch small sizes of aquatic organisms whose lengths are less than the permissible limit, and the Ministry coordinates with the competent authority in each emirate to determine these seasons, species, sizes and announce these It is reported in the media and through the ministry’s offices in the regions and through cooperative societies for fishermen.
Article 26:
1. Fishing, by nets in the manner of a bottom plow, bottom position, or lights, or by nets made of nylon material or any other materials or fishing methods determined by a decision of the Ministry.
2. Erecting fishing water barriers, changing the pattern of water currents or impeding the movement of aquatic life, filling or dredging the seafloor or beaches, or removing, exploiting or dredging aquatic weeds, except with a license required by the public interest issued by the competent authority in coordination with the Ministry in accordance with the regulatory legislation Other.
3. Abandoning boats in the fishing ports, as determined by the executive regulations.
4. The captain's violation of security instructions regarding sailing for fishing.
 
Article 52
Whoever violates the provisions of Articles (23), (24), (26), (27) of this law shall be punished with imprisonment for a period of no less than three months and a fine of not less than twenty-five thousand dirhams and not more than fifty thousand dirhams, or one of these two penalties.
In the event of a recurrence, the penalty shall be imprisonment for a period of no less than one year and a fine of not less than fifty thousand dirhams and not exceeding one hundred thousand dirhams or either of these two penalties.
In all cases, the boats and fishing gear that are the subject of the violation are seized, and the seizure is ruled to be confiscated.
