Article 216
Forgery of a document is a change of the truth about it by one of the methods shown below, a change that would cause harm, and the intention to use it as a valid editor.
Among the methods of forgery are:
- Making a change to an existing document, whether by adding, deleting, or changing the writing of the document, the numbers, signs, or pictures in or on it.
- Placing a forged signature or stamp, or changing an authentic signature, stamp or fingerprint.
- Obtaining, by surprise or fraud, a signature, seal, or fingerprint.
To a person without knowledge of the contents of the document or without proper consent to it.
- Fabricating or imitating a document and attributing it to others.
- Fill out a piece of paper signed, stamped, or imprinted on white without the consent of the owner of the signature, seal or fingerprint.
- Impersonation or replacing it in a document that has been re-verified.
- Misrepresenting the truth in a document as soon as it is edited while it has been verified.
Article 217
Forgery of an official document is punishable by imprisonment for a period not exceeding ten years, and forgery in an informal document is punishable by imprisonment.
