The law for the residence of foreigners in the Sultanate of Oman states:

Without prejudice to any stricter penalty stipulated in the Omani Penal Code or any other law, the punishment shall be imprisonment for a period of no less than a month and not exceeding three years and a fine of not less than one hundred riyals and not exceeding five hundred riyals, or one of these two penalties:

1- Anyone who gives false information before the competent authority or submits incorrect documents with the intention of obtaining a residence permit or transit permit or renewing any of them.

2- Every foreigner who enters the Sultanate’s territory secretly, by infiltration, or in violation of the provisions of Article 5 or Article 6 of this Law.

3- Every foreigner who does not leave the territory of the Sultanate within the specified period for that despite being informed of the refusal to renew his residency. The maximum penalties stipulated in the first paragraph of this Article shall be imposed in the event of the repetition of the crimes referred to, in the event that the foreigner returns to the Sultanate illegally after his removal from it.
