a cheque is due for payment on the date stated as the date of issue.
It may not be presented for payment before such date as per Article 617,
And it shall not be presented for payment after a time-limit of 6 months from the stated date as per Article 618
For the criminal case ;
As per Article (20) of the UAE Criminal Procedures Law Federal Law No. (35) of the year 1992, the bearer of the bounced cheque can file a criminal case within aximum of five years from the date of receiving the cheque.
For the civil case ;
Article (638/1) of the UAE Commercial Transactions Law Federal Law No. (18) of 1993 provides a period of two years from expiry of the presentment period to file a civil case against the signatory of the bounced cheque.

Dear sir please tell me legally how I can proceed the legal case against accused person . Should I go to police or file my case in court I have personel witness and paper signed by accused person plus bank check please guide . Thanks and best regards .
