I was working as a Instructor of English (freelancer) and was told by my employer that freelancing does not require a written contract. They emailed me about my joining. I was new to the country and I couldnt find anything contradicting that and so I believed them. When I realized they had lied to me about it and that all employees need a written contract, I confronted them. This led to my services being terminated. I also recently found out that they had hired another person who was here on a visit visa and never applied for the change of status. I was also not paid any salary for my last month of service in February. What are my options?

If you are suspended from work without having an employment contract, here is the following information:

I am on a resident visa, do I still require a work permit?Also, can I not complain about the employers for this other case where they employed a lady who was here on a visit Visa. I later found out it was illegal for them to employ her and that they never intended to apply for change in her status

of course, I get your point now. But can the organization not be made answerable in the case where they employed another lady while she was a tourist here? This lady worked with them for 3 months until her visa ran out. She then returned to her home country.
