Hi doc i just want to ask, im taking birth control...

what is the diane 35 pills ?
they are a birth contorl pills ( hormonal in form ) and it contains 2 types of pills inside the package 

1. the 7 pills that are whitish and bigger  are placebo ( non medicinal ) 
2. the normal pills ( smaller and more yellowish ) and they are contains cyproterone and ethinyl estradiol

what are the uses of this drug ?

• contraception 
• treatment of acne that isnt responding to the treatment with antibiotics 

what are the side effects ?

• fatigue 
• dizziness 
• headache 
• abdominal cramps 
• hair loss 
• mood swings 
• male type of hair distribution 
• breast pain and tenderness 

how to take the drug as contraception and how effective is its in preventing pregnancy ?
in terms of effectivness the drug is 99% effective as a contracetive drug but its very heavily depending on taking the doses at the right time unless you didnt do it then the efficacy will be low and pregnancy might happen . 
whith regards to how to use the drug the pack contains 28 pills 21 active pills and the rest 7 are non active the 1st pill should be started at the 1st day of menstruation and if your next menstrual period didnt come so dont start a new course of the drug till the 1st day of the menstruation ( you should take the drug at the same time everyday for the maximal effect ) 
can i be pregnant ?
the simple answer is yes you might since you forgot to take the active pills in the 3rd and 4th day of menstruation and as we told you befor the drug will lose its effect if not taken as a full course 
what is the advice ?
we advice you to visit the obs and gyn in case your next mestrual cylce didnt come at the regular time to check for pregnancy since it migh be the cuase of the missed period
