Pancreatitis treatment:

Acute pancreatitis occurs due to many reasons, and treatment depends on several factors, including the causes and symptoms, as well as the severity of the inflammation, and the results of medical evaluation of the current condition based on laboratory and radiological criteria.
 Minor inflammation are treated with simple measures, based mainly on fluids intake and pain killers and improving nutrition, while severe inflammation, it sometimes requires treatment in the ICU and may require surgery.
The time of recovery  varies from person to person and can last for days to months, depending on the degree of injury.

Type of treatment depends on the severity of the disease and its cause as mentioned previously, so there is no universal treatment for all patients

 Its important to quit alcohol and smoking ,you also should drink clear liquids,. If you suffer from severe pain and difficulty drinking liquid, treatment is carried out in the hospital and not by yourself, where intravenous solutions and medications are administered intravenously. Surgery/ endoscopy is done sometimes to treat the cause, for example to remove bile ducts stones causing inflammation and cholecystectomy later. Sometimes surgery is used in cases of complications, which usually cause persistent pain, such as doing debridement in case of infected necrosis.

Diagnosis

It is done by doing the clinical examination, and taking the medical history by the physician, some tests may be required such as blood, electrolytes, liver and kidney functions, blood sugar , and pancreatic enzymes. CT imaging and sometimes resonance imaging are also done to assess inflammation and determine the extent of damage.

Advice

You should be evaluated by medical staff to categorize the severity, simple cases are treated by analgesics and fluid, such as Tramadol and pethidine, but more severe cases may require hospitalization
