Amenorrhea, causes and treatment  
Menstural cycle is a normal physiological process that happen to every female in child bearing age, it happen due to hormonal changes where Progestrone which is secreted by the ovum maintain the integrety of the endometrium to facilitate implantation of the fertilized zygot, if no fertilization happened the ovum pass away and the progestrone level fall, then the endometrium shed away to cause bleeding of the cycle. if he menstural cycle had not happened for  a long term then the ovaries should be checked along side the hormonal axis as there will be a significant hormonal compromise that could causes absence of mesnturation, if the ovaries are still having ova it could be induced to resume ovulation. A consultation of infertility specialist is a must to solve the problem
Investigations 
After the proper physical exam you should do  blood glucose 2 hours after meal. Kidney functions Urea and Cr, Thyroid functions (TSH, T4 ) to detect any disturbance in thyroid functions, Hormonal evaluation of Prolactin,  FSH, Estrogen, Progestrone should be done in addition to an , Ultrasound exam of the ovaries and uterus , Brain MRI to check for the pituitary gland

• Polycystic ovarian syndrome 
• ovarian failure
• Pituitary tumors (Prolactinoma) 
• Chronic kidney disease
• Thyroid dysfunction 
• Anatomical abnormalities of the uterus
