Symptomes and management of kidney stones
Kidney stones are considered one of the commonest pathologies that happen to the kidney where precipitations of some minerals like Oxalate, Calcium and uric acid form a stone in the kidney that might pass through the ureter or stay in the kidney pelvis. its associated with attacks of pain and nausea, vomiting and sometimes fever if got infected. Kidney stones of small size less than 1 cm are treated conservatively as it will pass spontaneously. larger stones like your stone should be treated by External shock wave lithotripsy or surgically through an incision and removal by percutaneous extraction. Diclofen 50 mg tab twice a day will help releive the pain in addition to Hyoscin butylbromide 10 mg three times a day. you should discuss the treatment options with Urologist.
Required Investigations
After the proper physical exam you should do CBC to detect any rise in white cell count, Urine analysis to see the crystals and any bacteria. Ultrasound to define the stone and a CT with IVP to detect the accurate size and location of the stone. Kidney functions Urea, Cr to detect any kidney pathology.
