We would like to inform you that according to the UAE Residence Law, if the expat is under the company sponsorship then he can’t start business for his own or he will face legal problems unless he gets the approval from the sponsor and license from the Human Resources. As according to the law, UAE nationals, residents of the (GCC) countries and residents of the UAE can work for a second job after obtaining a part-time work permit from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, and it is valid for a year.
This permit authorizes the holder to work part-time in another company for less than eight hours per day, in addition to his / her job at the current company.
The cost of obtaining this permit includes the application form fee of 100 AED and the initial approval fees 500 AED.
In case of working at another company without obtaining this permit, the company is subjected to a fine of 50,000 AED in addition any other penalties when the violation has been committed again.
