How to treat pinworms

Treatment should be with mebendazole at a dose of 100 mg orally for one dose only, or albendazole may be used at a dose of 400 mg for one dose and then repeated after two weeks. All family members should be treated with the same treatment. and if there itching  thr treatment is hydrocortisone ointment twice a day as and you should wash all the covers and clothes

How to diagnose pinworms

Diagnosis is by performing a clinical examination at the doctor, and a glass slide microscopy is performed, where a sample is taken from around the anus, and a cellophane -tape examination can also be done, where a sample is also taken from around the anus and examined

What are the causes of pinworms

The cause is a parasite called entrobius vermicularis where it enters the intestine as an egg through contaminated food or contaminated hands.

What are the symptoms of pinworms

     inability to sleep
    Itching in the anus
    pain in the abdomen
    Anorexia
    Worms may reach to the vagina, leading to vaginal discharge and itching
