Vaccination induced fever
Fever is a common complain especially after getting vaccinated with live attenuated viral vaccines, your baby will feel some vaccine site pain and fever with episodes of crying and to releive his symptomes you should use Ibuprofen 100 mg syrup 3 cm every 6 hrs in addition to the use of cold compress and packs at the site of injection. Care should be paid toward the perisistance of symptomes beyond 48 hrs that alerts more investiagtions to rule out other sources of fever and consultation of pediatracian .
Required tests
If symptomes perisisted beyond 48 hrs you should ask for physical exam at pediatrics clinic and do cbc to detect any rise in WBC as sign of ongoing infectious state, a chest X ray to detect any lung infections, examination of EAR, THROAT to detect any signs of otitis media and tonsillits. a urine analysis is adviced to detect Urinary tract infections.
