Gout is considered one of joint problems that will cause chronic pain of joints especiialy the toes joints mostly the big toe, as Uric acid precepitate in the joint space and cause inflammatory process it will cause attacks of sharp pain and to treat these attacks you are adviced to take Ibuprofen 600 mg tab 4 times a day with Colchicine .6 mg tab 2 tablets at the begining of pain attack followed by 1 tablet 1 hour later and if symptomes perisist you take 2 tablets daily till the attacks goes away , after that you are advised to see your treating family doctor to do the required tests and start anti- gout meedications wich will decrease the level of uric acid. On the other hand you are adviced to increase your daily water intake.

In order to diagnose gout you should do uric acid level which will be higher than9 mg / dl or even higher than 11 in severe cases, you are also adviced to do the urinary 24 hr uric acid level to assess the function of the kidney along with kidney functions tests Urea and Creatinin, if there was severe joint swelling like Knee swelling its adviced to visit your treating Doctor to do aspiration of joint fluid using special needle and the aspirate will go for microscopic analysis which will show special character of Gout Crystalss .

you are adviced to conserve well balanced diet containing adequate amounts of Fruits and Green vegetables and avoid protein as much as you can especially meat products and stop their intake during the acute attack, you are also adviced to increase your daily water intake and avoid smoking and take the adequate time of daily rest with use of cold packs over the involved joint.
