According to Emirati law, a divorced woman may claim alimony (this is subject to the laws of the country that gives her the right to that alimony until she remarries), compensation if her husband has not spent on her in the last year of marriage, and compensation for the moral damage he suffered as a result of her divorce.

By referring to Federal Law No. (28) of 2005 on personal status,

The mother has the right to custody and the father is the guardian.

Unless the court considers that the period be extended for the benefit of the children, until the male comes, or the female marries.

The father then requests custody.
