تم تقييم هذه الإجابة:
My xray always shows increased bronco vascular marking in both sides. The doctor didn't take is serious since I used to smoke. I have quit smoking for more than a year but still have cough and markings in both lungs. I have got bacterial pneumonia twice in a year. Kindly advice if I need to worry because due to covid 19 I am hesitating to visit pulmonologist.

what's the meaning of prominent bronchovascular markings
Bronchovascular markings represent vessels in the lungs. Those fine vessels are visible in chest x-ray as fine white lines. These are abnormal or increased if they are too much and reach till the periphery of lung. Increased bronchovascular markings is a broad tem and can be seen in normal individuals also.
Do you need to worry ?
No need to worry , just keep quiting smoking and avoid any dust or polluted air , and use natrual herbs regularly especially thyme , in severe cough you may need ventolin inhaler and ketofen for allergy
Common causes of increased bronchovascular markings are
1. chronic bronchitis : caused by long term cigarettee smoking eventually damaging the lung and also causing COPD ( chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).
2.asthma : due to hyperinflation in lung caused due to air trapping
3. bronchopneumonia : patchy lung infection
4. heart failure causing increased stagnation of blood
5. interstitial lung disease due to allergens causing gradual inflammation in the lung.
