We would like to inform you that if you are an expat and resident in UAE, if the employer took your passport then according to the law, it is not permissible for a passport to have this original but in the event that the passport is seized by the employer sponsoring the requested place and if the refusal is made, then you can file a complaint in front of the nearest police station and you can submit a copy of the complaint before the Ministry of Labor to explain the matter but the law permits that the passport be seized with any government department affiliated with the Ministry of the Interior with the legal justification for the reservation, otherwise it is not considered a legal offense, and this is in contrast to employers in the private sector that prevent them from withholding the passports of the workers.
