he should have ECG done to exclude the presence of heart attack and cardiac enzymes also should be done and it may be due to other causes like chest muscle cramp or bone problem but heart disease should be excluded first

Treatment :
- chest pain in known cases of cardiac patients is always serious complaints and it should be assessed thoroughly by the doctor, and in your father's case and his history of open-heart surgery you shouldn't underestimate any chest pain, however, there are certain symptoms when accompanied the chest pain it makes it serious and need medical assessment. our advice in the current time is to observe any changes on your father, commit to your medications such as statins, aspirin, Plavix or any drugs prescribed by the doctor, avoid junk food and do sports each day
