epigastric areaa discomfort ?
the discomfort of the epigastric area is the treated by an antacid drugs such as gaviscone and a proton pump inhibitor drug such as omeprazole.     in cases of cardiac cause then b.aspirin us used , isosorbid dinitrate, cardiac cathetrization and even opn heart surger .    in cases of stomach infection then oeprazole 40 mg per day ,  clarithromycin 500 mg 2 times a day and amoxicillin 500 mg 2 times a day but in general the treatment depends upon the cause 
what are the possible causes of epigastric discomfort ?

• gastritis ( stomach infection ) 
• gastric ulcer or peptic ulcer disease 
• gallbladder stones 
• esophegitis 
• ischemic heart disease and acute coronary syndrome 
• anginal pain 
• xiphoidal prosess inflammation 
• pancreatitis 

what are the diagnostic tests ?
clinicla examination , medical history ,  gastroesophgodudenoscopy lus sample for pathology in case of suspected infection or tumor ,  stool analysis for h.pylori antigen test ( stomach usual bacteria ) and ulrasound and CAT SCAN for the abdomen in case of gallbladder stones or pancreatitis are suspected plus pancreatic enzyme tests such as s lypase and s.amylase and ECG  for the heart, ECHOcardiography and cardiac enzymes such as troponin test and myoglubin test and CKMB test
