We would like to inform you that anyone may obtain a residence in Qatar if the conditions are met, and if you intend to obtain a work residence, you shall find an employer, obtain non objection from him and go to the General Directorate of Immigration and Passports and submit an application for a work permit, and it should be noted that it is natural that  it is the responsibility of the employer to take all necessary procedures to obtain the necessary residence permit for the expatriate.  When an expatriate enters the country for the first time, the employer obtain a temporary entry visa for him and then it is converted into a residence permit and the process usually takes 2-4 weeks and sometimes a longer period.  Applicants may not leave the country during the period of the visa conversion into residence permit.
