Treatment of fever and cough:

It depends on the cause, so treatment may include conservative management as drinking enough hot fluid, and you can use antihistamine as cetrizine 10 mg once daily before sleep for 5 days for allergy, and antibiotic as augmentin 500 mg three times daily for bacterial infection for 5 days.

Diagnosis of the cause of fever and cough:

You have to visit your doctor for clinincal examination and investigations as CBC to detect infection, and Chest x-ray to detect lung infection.

Causes of  fever and cough:

It may be due to:

• Allergy
• Viral infection
• Bacterial infection

What i advise you:

Till the right diagnosis you can use cetrizine 10 mg once daily before sleep for 5 days for allergy
