According to the UAE Labour Law, a worker is considered as « absconded »  if he stops work for more than a week without a legitimate reason, and without the employer's knowledge of his whereabouts.

Labor escape notification procedures

The employer or his representative:

Fill out the escape notification form and submit it to the business department to which the facility belongs

Proof that the facility does not have prior fines, or that it has paid all fines

By providing a bank guarantee of three thousand (3000) dirhams for each worker who wants to report his escape.
