The scope of insurance coverage for employees and their families is determined by the employee’s salary, job position and other matters, and the cost of medical services provided to the resident is determined according to the scope of the coverage and the insurance program, as in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, employers must provide health insurance for their employees and their families that includes one wife and three children under the age of 18 but in the emirate of Dubai, the government requires employers to provide health insurance for their employees only without their families, and on the other hand, sponsors must provide the required insurance coverage for their sponsors. As for other emirates, employees who do not have health insurance by employers can purchase health insurance for them and their families and there are many health insurance companies available in the UAE, some of which provide Islamic insurance products such as (Takaful).
