What is the treatment of sciatica?
Sciatica treatment includes the use of pain relievers such as ibuprofen 600mg three times a day, and amitriptyaline one tablet a day for nerve pain as well as baclofen one tablet a day to reduce muscle tension. It is also advised to avoid heavy lifting, using of cold and warm compresses to  relieve pain, to take enough rest and avoid standing for long time. Additionally, physiotherapy session could be helpful. Furthermore, steroid injections can be used  and the last solution is surgery
What are the investigations ?
Clinical examination sholud be carried out by an orthopedic surgeeon who performs some clinical exams such as a straight leg raise test. Complete blood count test to exclude the presence of an infection, in addition to imaging tests that include CT SCAN and MRI
Causes of sciatica?
Herniated disc of the lumbar vertebrae
Spinal stenosis
Inflammation of the vertebrae or spinal cord
Back injury
What are the symptoms of sciatica?
Pain and numbness in the lower back which usually radiated to the leg
The pain icreases at night or with movement
Muscle weakness
Feeling of numbness
